Cookie Policy
This page openly describes every cookie that Dijaspora actually sets, plus those that technical partners (Cloudflare) may set.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser to remember preferences or to perform basic technical functions. They contain no executable code and cannot access other data on your device.
Dijaspora does not use cookies for targeted advertising and does not share them with marketing networks.
Necessary cookies
Without these cookies the site cannot function correctly. They do not require consent — they rely on legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (security, language support).
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|
| NEXT_LOCALE | Stores the selected language (sr / de / en) so you do not have to choose it on every visit. | About 1 year | First party (Dijaspora) |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare Bot Management — distinguishes users from automated bots to protect the site. Set only when Cloudflare detects suspicious activity. | About 30 minutes | Third party (Cloudflare) |
Analytics cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies. If you accepted analytics in the cookie banner, we additionally use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2 — these cookies are only set after your explicit consent and only for aggregated traffic measurement (no advertising signals).
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 — user identifier used to distinguish sessions. Only set if you accepted analytics in the banner; otherwise it is not created at all. | 2 years | Third party (Google) |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 — page and session data for a specific GA4 property (the suffix matches the property ID). Only set with consent. | 2 years | Third party (Google) |
Without your consent, _ga and _ga_* are never created. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the `cookie-consent-v1` entry in your browser's local storage — the banner will then reappear on your next visit.
How to manage cookies
All modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) allow you to block or delete cookies. The setting is typically under the Privacy / Settings menu.
If you block NEXT_LOCALE, the site will still work — but your language choice will not persist between visits.

Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, Art. 12 ZZPL). Any analytics or marketing cookies will be activated only after explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
